1. 온도변화에 따라 저항치가 크게 변하는 반도체로Ni, Co, Mn, Fe 및 Cu 등 금속산화물을 혼합하여 만든 것이다.
2. 서미스터는 넓은 온도 범위 내에서 온도계수가 일정하다.
3. 25℃에서 서미스터 온도계수는 약 –2~6%/℃의 매우 큰 값으로서 백금선의 약 10배이다.
4. 측정온도 범위는 –100~300℃정도이며, 측온부를 작게 제작할 수 있어 시간 지연이 매우 적다.
